16 Days of Activism Workshop Series: “Ask Me Anything!” Workshop – DFV SPECIALIST CASE MANAGEMENT

Run by a panel of local DFV specialist service workers

This session related to SPECIALIST CASE MANAGEMENT based DFV services on the Mid North Coast.

Please see the information below regarding this workshop, and the others happening on the day.

As part of the #DFVIsEveryonesBusiness Workshop Series on the Mid North Coast, Wednesday 7th December will be set aside for 3 x consecutive online interactive webinar sessions, run by a panel of local DFV specialist service workers who will answer your tricky questions. A survey was recently circulated through the local Child and Family Interagencies to collect anonymous questions, which will be answered and explored during the workshop. We’ll also throw in some other questions that are commonly asked.

The local specialist services in the region acknowledge that issues around domestic and family violence can be complex. It is not feasible to always know the answer to questions that clients have around DFV, and as service workers, it’s not always easy or comfortable to ask experts these questions either. These workshops are an opportunity for the sector to understand more about how the local DFV specialist services work and ask taboo questions on things they’ve always wanted to know or things they feel they should know. This ties in with the overarching theme of the workshop series, that DFV is everyone’s business. The aim of these sessions is to equip local community service workers where DFV is not their core business, with the necessary knowledge, tools and referral pathways to better support local families experiencing violence. Given the prevalence of domestic violence in our community, it is almost inevitable that families you support may be experiencing this issue or have experienced it in the past. You have the power to support them, and we are here to support you.

During the three scheduled “Ask Me Anything!” DFV workshops, we will hear from a panel of local workers, who run services and programs within the Specialist Domestic Violence Services available across the Mid North Coast.

There are three categories/workshop sessions running on the 7th of December. Registration is for individual sessions, NOT the entire series. Please follow the links below.
