Get Connected Toormina

Get Connected Toormina (GCT) is a community engagement project, which was developed in response to identified community safety and infrastructure needs.

The project brings the community together to look at how local social issues can be addressed, and to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for children, young people and families living in the Toormina area. It also aims to create a sense of community pride in shared spaces.

The project is facilitated by Blue Sky Community Services with the support of a working party, and brings together a wide range of stakeholders, including community members, local businesses, community groups, organisations and government services.

The GCT project has a number of areas via which it aims to support the community via community activities, assets and sub-projects running at various times. These include:

  • Youth-driven projects
  • Local Drug Action Team (LDAT)
  • Community Directory
  • Community Feedback and Aspirations
  • Community Safety and Wellbeing
  • Sports Projects
  • Arts and Cultural
  • Other Local Projects
