About Us

Judy has worked in the aged care sector for 30 years. She has worked in the residential and community care settings, as well as with Aboriginal communities, and also in government positions across Australia. Judy moved to Coffs Harbour in 2007, where she worked as an educator, group worker and project officer for Dementia Australia for 10 years, before taking up her current position as Manager of Waratah Respite Services in 2018. Judy has a Bachelor of Arts (Social Welfare) degree, a Graduate Diploma in Adult Education, and a Master of Public Health and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She is passionate about social justice and brings a range of experience to her position on the Board.

Glen has more than 35 years of practice and executive experience working in the community and mental health sectors in three states. Her roles include Executive Director of Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs for the Public Health Network, Western Australia State Manager of a national mental health organisation, CEO of a youth and family welfare service, CEO of regional community health service, AOD and HIV counselling, and Australian National Quality Assurance and Training Manager for an international corporate company. Glen’s work has included the development, leading and establishment of a number of innovative services and solutions supporting mental health, community and youth services. Glen has managed and navigated significant change management within primary and mental health Commonwealth and State government reform agendas. Glen is highly skilled in partnership and organisational development in addition to her extensive experience in quality accreditation and audit for the health, welfare and employment sectors. Glen holds qualifications in mental health, social welfare, AOD, management, training and assessment, quality review & audit and counselling.

During her career, Bronwyn has held many senior positions, including her role as Chief Executive Officer of GenHealth Inc. (the Lead Agency for Coffs Harbour Women’s Health Centre, headspace Coffs Harbour and headspace Grafton). Bronwyn has extensive experience in community sector management, having worked in community care, health services, the private sector, finance and media. Bronwyn holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Sociology. She has been a member of the Mid North Coast Local Health District Community Reference Group, as well as sitting on the Mid North Coast Local Health District Healthy Communities Committee and the Mid North Coast Local Health District White Ribbon Australia Workplace Accreditation Steering Committee.

Stephen has been a small business owner for 30 years. He has owned and operated a Saw Doctoring business that serviced the timber industry from Wauchope to Murwillumbah, and also owned and managed Hidden Image Hairdressing in Coffs Harbour. He moved to Coffs Harbour in 1989, where he has been involved in community organisations including Caterpillar House, the JPET Program and lay youth work with the Baptist church in the mid-1990s. In 1996 Steve and his wife established Virtual Know How, an Australia-wide business that sells and supports the RealCare Infant Simulator to Secondary Schools, TAFE Colleges and Aboriginal Health Services. In 2020 Steve completed a Bachelor of Business, Applied Entrepreneurship. He is passionate about small business, supporting new business owners, and encouraging the creation of imaginative and robust businesses.

Kamla Ruthnam Webb has 9 years of experience in management and administration, as well as a long history of volunteering her time within the Aboriginal community. Kamla has a Bachelor of Business (International Business) degree from Southern Cross University, a Diploma in Practice Management, Certificates III and IV in Personal Training, and Certificate III in Training and Assessment. Kamla prides herself on continuing to learn all the time. Kamla’s current role and volunteer work centred around the Aboriginal community, especially the youth. Kamla has a great deal of knowledge and experience to share through her position on the Board but also enjoys keeping an open mind and learning from other Board members through their collaborative work.

Tazmyn Jewell has a legal background, practising as a lawyer in criminal and civil jurisdictions in Victoria and Regional Managing Lawyer at Victoria Legal Aid. Tazmyn is passionate about improving access to health and wellbeing services to regional communities through social justice reform, service innovation and collaboration. Tazmyn is the Chief Executive Officer of Health Voyage Ltd., the lead agency for the Coffs Harbour Women’s Health Centre, headspace Coffs Harbour, headspace Grafton and the Mental Health Nursing Services Program.

Ruth has been the Chief Executive Officer of Blue Sky Community Services since 2009 and has been working in the community services sector since 1982. Ruth is passionate about ensuring the services we deliver are of exceptional quality. She is committed to creating a positive difference in the world, in the lives of people we work with, and within our local communities. Ruth is also passionate about building a kind and values-based workplace, where our staff are genuinely valued and are supported to thrive and be happy at work. Ruth believes that good leaders inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more. Ruth has a strong commitment to continuous learning and holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences, a Diploma in Management, a Diploma in Social Enterprise, an Associate Diploma of Diversional Therapy, and Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.

Terry brings more than 17 years of experience in the community sector, in Australia and internationally, to Blue Sky Community Services. His previous work with a diverse range of organisations has focused on empowering individuals and communities to achieve their potential, with an emphasis on youth, employment, community development and education. Previous roles included National Program Director and Victorian Program Director for High Resolves, Country Director for Youth Challenge Vanuatu, and Project Administrator on the Australian Government initiated Family Centred Employment Project. Terry holds a Master’s in Social Science and a Bachelor of Commerce.

Colin joined Blue Sky Community Services as Chief Financial Officer in June 2017. His previous experience includes Chief Financial Officer of a large not-for-profit community organisation, Group Accountant for an ASX-listed corporation, and working within his own business. Having trained in the UK, Colin migrated to Australia in the 1980s. Colin is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds an Honours Degree in Accounting and Analysis. Colin loves working with the great team of people at Blue Sky Community Services, and is enjoying assisting the organisation to achieve its vision.

Nicki has worked in a variety of industries in her working life, mainly in operational roles. She enjoys the challenges that managing operations brings, and believes it is a role that allows her to learn new things every day. Nicki has previously worked closely with schools, TAFE, universities and local employers to develop opportunities for young people, both indigenous and non-indigenous. She collaborated with a number of organisations in the disability and aged care sector to develop programs to educate and introduce young people to the many different careers and opportunities available to them working in the sector. Nicki has experience in mentoring and supporting both young people and their employers. She believes that people are the most important asset of an organisation, and that it’s important to respect and support staff and embrace their individuality so they are happy at work. And in return these happy staff deliver excellent services!

Yvonne joined Blue Sky Community Services in August 2018. Yvonne has more than 25 years of experience working in the television industry, managing broadcast production and venue operations on major global events such as World Cups, Olympics and Commonwealth Games. Her most recent long-term project was as Head of Broadcast Venue Management on the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, overseeing the planning and implementation of broadcast operations across all 18 venues of the event, and the production of associated documentation and communications. Yvonne has a Bachelor of Arts Joint Honours degree in French and German, is a registered Prince2 Project Management Practitioner, and a qualified proofreader. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, cycling, running and surfing, and is a volunteer surf lifesaver. Yvonne is enjoying working for an organisation that makes a positive difference in people’s lives, and that adheres to its strong values-based culture.

Jye is a qualified Chartered Accountant with more than 17 years’ experience within the accounting industry. He has worked with a wide range of industries over this time, including many not-for-profits. Jye supports businesses with financial budgeting, reporting and modelling, process improvement and design, systems implementation. He joined Blue Sky Community Services in early 2023 and enjoys working with such an amazing team of people and seeing the positive impact they make on our communities every day.

Sue has over 40 years’ experience in a range of community care and health settings and has been with Blue Sky Community Services since 2010. Sue holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences, a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, an Advanced Diploma of Management: Social Enterprise. She is also a School for Social Entrepreneurs Australian Fellow and has completed the Challenge Of Leadership course through Leadership Management Australia (LMA). Sue has a passion for the principles of social justice and is a strong proponent of working collaboratively and in partnerships with communities and services within a strengths-based and inclusive model of practice. Sue is currently the Program Manager for the Families, Young People and Communities team and is based at the Groundworks Youth Centre.

Melanie joined the Blue Sky Community Services team in July 2014 and has over 15 years of experience working in the community services and disability sector. Mel holds a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Newcastle with a major in Family and Community Welfare and is currently studying a Graduate Certificate in Diversity, Inclusion and Intersectionality through Charles Sturt University. Mel is passionate about diversity and inclusion and working alongside her team to create opportunities for all people to participate. Mel plays a lead role in Blue Sky’s Reconciliation Action Plan working group, the Disability Confident Recruiter Accreditation, the Diversity and Inclusion working group and many other community capacity-building projects. Outside of work, you will find Mel spending quality time with her family, exploring the outdoors at the beach, camping or in her garden!

Charity has moved to Australia from the UK in 2019 , with more than 12 years of experience in the UK healthcare industry. This period included 9 years in operational management and 3 years in organisational development, with a focus on workforce equality, inclusivity, wellbeing and engagement. She has a passion for staff wellbeing, continuous improvement and innovation, and hopes to be able to use her skills to help make a positive difference in the local community. Outside of work Charity enjoys being active and is enjoying exploring her new home country!

Claudia joined Blue Sky in February 2017, as a Local Area Coordinator. Coming from a background in community services, Claudia holds a Bachelor of Human Services Majoring in mental health and addiction and a Cert IV in Training and Assessment. Claudia is passionate about inclusion, staff wellbeing and innovation and loves supporting people in the community and workplace to achieve their goals and build their skills. Outside work, Claudia enjoys spending time camping, swimming and reading.

Claire is a qualified Human Resources professional with extensive human resources experience in the community services sector, with culturally diverse organisations, training services, and in local government. Dedicated to assisting organisations to support others, Claire’s previous human resources roles include Galambila Aboriginal Health Service, Bulgarr Ngaru Medical Aboriginal Corporation, Life Without Barriers, Greek Orthodox Community Care, CRANES Community Support Programs and Subee Newlake. Claire is passionate about the delivery of a quality and values-driven HR service, rooted in procedural fairness, best practice and legislative compliance, which meets the needs of the organisation and ensures that staff are fully supported in their employment. Leanne is the NDIS Support Services Manager in the Taree/Mid Coast area and has been working in disability services for five years. Leanne is passionate about disability services and loves the fact that she is able to assist in making a difference in the lives of people and their families. Leanne is striving to build inclusive relationships with the community and people living with disability.

Mark joined Blue Sky Community Services in February 2017 as a Local Area Coordinator, having previously worked in the same role at another organisation. Prior to this he had worked with a large utilities company for many years. Mark’s qualifications include a Diploma of Management and Certificate IV in Assessment and Training. He has volunteered in many administrative and coaching roles for sporting teams, and through this involvement appreciates the importance of support in assisting many people to become active members of their local community. Mark has a passion for the equality and wellbeing of all people in our communities.

Sam has more than a decade of diverse experience in various roles working with young people and communities. With a Bachelor of Music, Diploma of Audio Production and a Diploma of Games Development, he values creativity and self-expression, believing that everyone deserves the opportunity to express themselves, and to be seen and heard. Sam is committed to creating a vibrant youth centre (and world), where everyone, regardless of identity, feels valued and empowered to thrive. His aim is to help build a community where belonging is paramount, and skills flourish, enabling a brighter future for everyone.
