The Enhancing Inclusion in the Health System Project has donated more than 40 sensory-friendly kits to hospitals across the Mid North Coast. The kits include sensory regulation items that can assist people with disability, diverse sensory needs or other health conditions, to feel calmer and more supported in their surroundings.
Sensory awareness training has also been provided to more than 250 Health staff across the Mid North Coast Local Health District.
Sensory kits are located within various wards at the following Mid North Coast hospitals:
- Wauchope District Memorial Hospital
- Bellinger River District Hospital
- Coffs Harbour Health Campus
- Dorrigo Health Campus
- Kempsey District Hospital
- Macksville District Hospital
- Port Macquarie Base Hospital
If you are in hospital and interested in being supported with a sensory kit, feel free to ask Health staff supporting you if your ward has a kit available.
