Webinar – Supporting Neurodivergent Children and Parents through Separation and Divorce

Neurodivergent individuals experience and interpret the world in ways that differ from the social and cultural norm (known as ‘neurotypical’ functioning).  Research suggests divorce and separation are higher among families who have neurodivergent children, and many parents of neurodivergent children are also neurodivergent themselves.

This webinar, hosted by the Family Law Pathways Networks (FLPN) will explore best practice principles for practitioners working in and alongside the family law sector, including family law professionals supporting children and parents who are or may be neurodivergent. It will look at the stigma and misunderstandings that surround neurodivergence, as well as key considerations and practical strategies for supporting the wellbeing of neurodivergent children and families in this context.

Date: Tuesday, 17 March 2026

Time: 1pm to 2.30pm

Location: Online webinar (details and link provided upon registration)

Cost: Free

Primary Care Impact Grants – Open Now

Healthy North Coast (HNC) is offering grants to support better care for chronic diseases, which are long-term conditions with lasting effects on individuals and communities. These diseases are a leading cause of disability and death in Australia, but nearly 40% of their burden could be prevented by addressing modifiable risk factors and improving disease management.

To support these efforts, Healthy North Coast’s Primary Care Impact Grants provide significant funding for local healthcare providers. These grants focus on two critical areas:

  • Proactive prevention: Reducing the risk of chronic diseases through early intervention and health promotion.
  • Team-based management: Empowering multidisciplinary care teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered support.

Applications for grants are currently open and will close on 13th March 2026.

For more information about the Grants, including how to apply, head to the Grants webpage on the HNC website.

About the Grants: Since 2018, the program has supported local organisations through small community grants, helping bring 106 projects to life. This round of funding continues that commitment. When one part of our community is affected, we all feel the impact. This belief in shared responsibility and connection guides the Mid North Coast Community Health Fund.

The Auslan Emergency Interpreting (AEI) App is now available for Deaf and hard of hearing Australia, giving our community equal access to Triple Zero (000) for the first time in history.

To help you get started, we've created two short step-by-step demo videos for iPhone and Android.

Each video will show you how to download the app, open it for the first time, and get ready to make an emergency call with a NAATI qualified Auslan interpreter.

To find out more about the app and to watch the video, head to the AEI App webpage.

Inclusion Support available for Businesses, Organisations and Community Groups

Blue Sky's Inclusive Communities team can provide inclusion support to your business, organisation (non-NDIS providers), community or sporting group, to assist you with how to be more welcoming and supportive of people with disability visiting your space.

An Inclusive Communities Coordinator can deliver sensory awareness education to your team, and provide support to create your own sensory kit. Or your team may benefit from person-first disability awareness education to ensure they utilise respectful language and avoid assumptions. Or you may like assistance to create your own social story to welcome people to your space.

Supports can be tailored to your needs - pick and choose what you'd like! And supports are free!

Reach out to our Inclusive Communities Coordinators to have a chat and plan your support:

Community Connections Guide – Inclusive Groups in our Communities

Blue Sky Community Services created the Community Connections Guide to encourage social inclusion across the Mid North Coast. The guide contains profiles of local groups and includes information on how to join, what to expect, and a list of accessibility features.

Community members can use the guide to explore groups they may wish to connect to.

Community groups can reach out to Blue Sky to be featured in the guide - It’s free to list! We can also assist you with easy practical ways your group can celebrate diversity, promote inclusion and, most importantly, make people feel like they belong.
